Individuals and families who receive support from Brockville and District Association
for Community Involvement are invited to submit nominations for the Robert Cook
Memorial Award
Robert Cook was supported by Brockville and District Association for Community
Involvement from 1988 to 2002. Robert taught us that the most important aspect of
a person’s life is the inalienable right to choose. He held high expectations of others
and requested the same in return. He taught us to appreciate commitment and
acceptance, and he helped support workers to understand the importance of
patience and persistence.
Nominees will be Support Workers who are believed to exemplify excellence in their
work according to the following criteria:
Sustained commitment to the respect and well-being of the person supported.
Appreciation of the fundamental importance of one’s right to choose and
make active contributions to the community through socially valued roles.
Practice that reflects sensitivity, caring, creativity and flexibility carried out in
the spirit of BDACI’s Goal and Philosophy in a manner above and beyond the
call of duty.
