We Want to Hear from You
At BDACI, we are committed to ensuring that the people we support, their families, and our community members have a meaningful way to share their concerns, questions, and ideas. Your feedback helps us improve our services, policies, and practices, and ensures that our community continues to be inclusive and responsive.
Guiding Principles for Addressing Concerns and Feedback
When a concern is raised, BDACI follows these principles:
· Concerns are addressed promptly and resolved as quickly as possible.
· Complaints are treated confidentially to protect privacy.
· Reviews of concerns are fair, impartial, and respectful to all involved.
· If you are not satisfied with how your concern is handled, you may speak with another staff member.
· You will be informed about the reasons behind decisions made regarding your concern.
· You will receive updates throughout the review process.
· Concerns and complaints are used to improve BDACI services, policies, and procedures.
How to Share Your Concern
Step 1: Speak with the people involved
Whenever possible, try to resolve the issue directly. Speak calmly, explain your concerns, and see if a solution can be reached together. You can raise your concern verbally or in writing.
Step 2: Contact a Core Staff Member
If the concern is not resolved, you may contact the office and speak to the office manager by dialing zero [0]. The office manager will review the issue and where necessary, seek guidance from the Executive Director or delegate to address your concern. Before contacting you, they will gather information from staff about what has already been done to address the issue.
You may also complete a Concern/Feedback Form, which will ensure your message reaches the appropriate person.
For a paper copy of the form or assistance, please call: 613-345-4092 ext. 0
For privacy-related concerns, contact BDACI’s Office Manager at: afenlong@bdaci.com or the Executive Director at kgavan@bdaci.com
